The Owl is used as the mascot of Cosy Suffolk Cottages as there are so many to be seen in the fields around the cottages.

Cosy Suffolk Cottages

Self catering holidays in a beautiful rural setting

Awarded 4 Stars by Quality in Tourism

We own four charming 18th Century cottages set in their own private gardens, providing a rural retreat where you can enjoy open countryside walks and return to put your feet up in front of a cosy wood–burner. We invite you to enjoy a holiday at any time of the year. Cycle Route No. 1 winds its way down the quiet lane, which passes the garden gate. Cycle hire available locally.

The cottages are:

  • Apple Tree Cottage: Our smallest cottage - perfect for two.
  • Mistletoe Cottage: A spacious cottage for two which has a separate dining room and an upstairs bathroom.
  • Rose Cottage: A little bit bigger than Apple Tree, this cottage can accommodate up to three plus a cot.
  • Holly Tree Cottage: Our largest and most recently renovated cottage. This spacious family sized accommodation has adequate space to sleep 6 + 2 on a sofa bed and a cot is also available.

All our cottages are fully equipped and our prices include central heating, lighting and all logs as well as linen and towels. There is ample off road parking in our private car park. We provide free wireless internet access but you have to bring your own laptop!

We live in the tiny hamlet of Sibton Green, just outside Yoxford (2 miles). Minsmere, Dunwich and North Warren reserves are within easy reach (7 miles). The whole area is ideal for walking, cycling, bird watching, riding and playing golf.

Sibton's origins go back a lot of years. We know the Romans had a settlement at the junction of the two Roman Roads at Sibton Pouy Street as the floor of the cellar of the Sibton White Horse is made from re-used roman building materials. The (now ruined) Cistercian Abbey at Sibton was built on the site of an older Anglo-Saxon building.

Neighbouring villages boast some delightful pubs (including Suffolk’s pub grub of the year winner). Framlingham is one with its well preserved and picturesque castle. Steeped in natural beauty the Heritage coastal towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold are just 20 minutes drive away.

Southwold, one of the most popular resorts on the east coast, is surrounded by creeks, marshes, reed beds and flanked to the south by the Blyth estuary. To visit Southwold is reminiscent of the 19th Century. For beer lovers the town is a must. It is home to the famous Adnams Brewery. In addition it is also famous for its beach huts along the promenade, beach amber, the award winning pier and the lighthouse.

Aldeburgh, a favourite seaside escape, is a pretty Victorian resort. A wide variety of wildlife is at home on its estuary, marshes and shingle beach. Sailing, yacht clubs and golf courses are just a few minutes drive from the town. The town itself serves arguably the best fish and chips on the east coast. Snape Maltings concert hall hosts the annual Aldeburgh Music Festival in June and the Proms in August.

Within a 45 minute drive of Sibton Green is Beccles, the gateway to the Norfolk Broads, Laxfield with the Kings Head “Low House” pub, and Lowestoft with its fishing community.
